The letters CBD have become quite popular as a healthier alternative to traditional pharmaceutical medicines, but did you know that Cannabidiol is not the only beneficial Cannabinoid? There are literally thousands of cannabinoids found within the hemp plant, such as CBD, CBN, CBG, CBC, THC, and THCV. So how do you know which products to take? The different variations are comprised of three basic extract mixtures: Isolate, Broad Spectrum, and Full Spectrum.
First, it is important to note that all the above-mentioned cannabinoids sold by H*ALT – Healthier Alternatives, are organic chemical extracts from the Industrial Hemp plant. The hemp plant has three major chemical compounds: cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. What does all this mean? It means that each product category has different formula mixtures that contain variations of chemical concentrates taken from the industrial hemp plant, and depending upon the product you choose, it will contain various extractions of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. The reason some products contain more than CBD is that when mixed with other cannabinoids, or terpenes and flavonoids, it can produce what is often termed an Entourage Effect, which has a more enhanced and synergistic influence on your body’s endocannabinoid system.
The Isolate formula contains only one cannabinoid, which is the popular CBD (cannabidiol). As an Isolate, it is pure CBD, containing only cannabidiol, and it is the least processed and most concentrated CBD extract. An example of a high concentrate isolate CBD product is our popular 1500 MG Mandarin Orange by Crystal Creek.
The Broad Spectrum formula contains a broad range of several different cannabinoids, such as CBD (Cannabidiol), CBG (Cannabigerol), CBN (Cannabinol), and CBC (Cannabichromene), but it does not contain THC or THCV. An example of Broad Spectrum CBD oil is our highly requested Blueberry CBD Terpenes by Green Roads.
The Full Spectrum formula contains a full range of cannabinoids. It includes the isolate CBD, the broad range of CBG, CBN, and CBC, but it also includes .03% of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the infamous mind-altering psychoactive cannabinoid. Even though its formulated mixture contains only .03 percent THC, it is important to clarify that this small amount of THC could negatively impact a urinalysis drug-screen. An example of a Full Spectrum CBD oil is our 1500 MG Full Spectrum Sublingual by Crystal Creek.
